That console’s bus compressor (nicknamed “The Glue”) has become legendary for sonically “gluing” tracks together. I mix with my ears, but goddamn if that plugin isn't hella helpful when I really need to know what's going on in a nitty-gritty way. learning to hear when a limiter is in the sweet spot took me years, i find the trick is to listen to the hihats, if the release flutters or they become distorted you have gone to hard. L2 limiter, Other: What on earth do those analog buttons do? Even so... annoying. Overall, it’s also the best Waves compressor. [–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child). It essentially only has 30 possible settings (3 types, 1 knob ranging from 0-10) but it does not matter what you put it on, one of those 30 settings will make it sound better or more pleasing. Everytime you think you've got a good result you A/B against something else (PSP E27, SlyFi Axis etc) and the waves show once again they make pretty terrible analog 'emulations'. Certain plugins take up significantly more processor power than others. Liberal MaxxBass abuse will cloud your lowmids pretty quickly. Also love the IR1 for creating huge spaces.
