I think you will be surprised how nice, the Rusto paint can look, if sprayed with the right ingredients mixed in.........Fred. HVLP is High volume low-pressure sprayer technique that is used to paint, varnish, retouching, and similar kind of job. It's time to redo my 3 gas pumps in the yard and I thought I'd change brands to GULF and paint them with orange Rust-o-leum in my HVLP gun. Reseal the cap, and then adjust the pressure of the spray gun to 20 pounds per square inch. Hi, I have some previously painted in dark brown acrylic, wood plantation shutters including frames donated to me, from a neighbor who has the same model home as myself. This paint when mixed correctly as I have prescribed on my other post not only sprays well with a gravity feed hvlp gun 1.3, 1.4 ,1.5 tips, will be very glossy on a smooth well prepped surface, should come out looking awesome. These paint guns increased the efficiency of how much paint actually made it to the panel saving you from wasted paint. Latex enamel paints are highly durable, easy to clean, eco-friendly paints that dry quickly, with a high gloss finish. I have always used a regular old fashioned spray gun with a quart can, or hooked it to a 3 gal pot for bigger jobs. Recently, I began using Benjamin Moore's Aura exterior acrylic latex paint, and, overall, love it, but would like to spray it with my HVLP on moderate sized carved panels to avoid brush marks. While it is not a BC/CC, Urethane, or Auto Acrylic enamel, it is a tough paint, and can be very durable. Usually the instructions that come with the gun will have a handy spray gun tip size chart too.
